IT Nella primavera del 1992 in Bosnia-Herzegovina scoppiava la guerra. La valle della Drina fu teatro delle peggiori atrocità, culminate nel genocidio di Srebrenica. Irvin Mujcic aveva 5 anni, e insieme alla madre, alla sorella e al fratello fu costretto a fuggire all’estero. Durante la guerra, perse suo padre e molti membri della sua famiglia. Una ventina di anni più tardi Irvin decide di ritornare nel suo paese, per fare pace con i demoni che lo inseguono. Negli stessi boschi in cui la gente trovava rifugio, Irvin inizia a costruire un villaggio con le proprie mani. Per ridare dignità a quei luoghi e ai loro morti, per guarire le proprie ferite, e realizzare il suo desiderio di redenzione.

EN In the spring of 1992, war broke out in Bosnia-Herzegovina. The Drina Valley became the scene of the worst atrocities, culminating in the Srebrenica genocide. Irvin Mujcic was 5 years old and, together with his mother, sister, and brother, was forced to flee abroad. During the war, he lost his father and many members of his family. Around twenty years later, Irvin decided to return to his homeland to make peace with the demons that haunted him. In the same woods where people once sought refuge, Irvin began building a village with his own hands. To restore dignity to those places and their dead, to heal his own wounds, and to fulfill his desire for redemption.
